Education & Learning


In Caerphilly County Borough there are many different options for Life Long learning. The are all sorts of ways to learn, formal accredited courses - meaning you get a formal qualification and a variety of informal learning opportunities both styles can happen in colleges or in your local community. If you are in a Communities frost are you can even put a request to get the specific course or topic you want.

Open University in Wales
The OU is a distance learning university. The Open Universitys style of teaching is called supported open learning, also known as distance learning - you learn in your own time by reading course material, working on course activities, writing assignments and perhaps working with other students. Supported by a tutor and the student services staff at the Regional Centre as well as from centralised areas.

Rise Learning Action Centres
RISE Learning Action Centres and Satellite Learning Centres, are all community focused learning centres, which offer courses both accredited and non accredited run by a range of providers. The facilities and the programmes offered at each centre vary, learners are invited to contact the centres individually to obtain information about courses which are available.
