Blue Badge Scheme
Caerphilly Social Services operates the Blue Badge Scheme on behalf of the Department of Transport. The Scheme is an international arrangement of parking concessions for people who are disabled or who have severe walking difficulties who travel either as drivers or passengers, and people who are registered blind. The scheme is intended to allow badge holders to park close to their destination. A parking badge costs £2.00.
Concessionary Fares and Passes The All Wales Concessionary Bus Pass scheme provides elderly and disabled residents free bus travel on most services throughout Wales.
Men and Women over 60 and a resident of Caerphilly County Borough can apply for a bus pass at any local Post Office. You will need to fill out an application form and provide a coloured passport-sized photograph along with proof of age and address. The Post Office assistant will check your details and send the form off for you. Your new pass will then be sent to your home address approximately 14 days later.
